Paul Wolfowitz adalah rakan karib Anwar Ibrahim

Siapa sebenarnya Wolfowitz?

Robert Companies, pengurus dana terkenal Amerika Syarikat).

Anwar urges Malaysia opposition to unite in poll

Based on an article from Reuters, Tue Nov 20, 2007 3:44pm IST

By Nopporn Wong-Anan

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Malaysia's de facto opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim, called on the country's disparate opposition on Tuesday to forge a loose electoral pact ahead of a snap election he predicted would take place next month.

Opposition parties with different racial support bases could find common ground on economic and democratic reforms, rallying cries for a big anti-government protest earlier this month, Anwar told reporters at a business forum in neighbouring Thailand.

"This is a challenging task because the relations between the PAS and the DAP are not too good," Anwar said, referring to Islamic party PAS and Chinese-based Democratic Action Party.
But Anwar said PAS, DAP and his Parti Keadilan had the shared goals of free elections, an independent judiciary and review of economic policy when they took part in the Nov. 10 rally, which ended in a police crackdown and at least a dozen arrested.

"If we can agree on this minimum programme -- political, economic -- then we can move on. I am sure we can get one opposition versus one UMNO-ordering Barisan Nasional," he said of the coalition government that has ruled Malaysia since 1957.

The coalition, made up of 14 parties including Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's UMNO, won a record number of seats in 2004 polls but analysts say it could be tough for the alliance to match that victory in the next election technically due in 2009.

On Monday Malaysia's electoral chief reignited speculation about an early election, saying the country would go to the polls before long. Abdullah is widely expected to dissolve parliament and call fresh polls by early next year.

Anwar said the most likely date for the elections would be December, but he did not expect a free and fair poll. "Just one week of campaign, I don't call it an election. I call it UMNO-controlled elections, no access to the media, not a general election," the former deputy prime minister said.

Comments;

The not so good relations between PAS & DAP were not a secret anymore, and by rallying them to unite just before the coming general election might not be a good public relation for them either. Even when they are not the ruling party of the nation, they just couldn’t work things out between them. I just can’t imagine how these groups of people will rule our beloved country if any one of us allowing them to win the next general elections.

When we talk about free and fair election, isn’t PAS won Kelantan and Terengganu during 1999 election? Even after 2004 election, PAS still able to retain their place in Kelantan. If the election were meant to be unfair, there won’t be any opposition parties ruling a state government at all cause.

If anyone of us realize, since the election is just around the corner, the opposition are trying to inflamed and played out the emotional & racial sentiment of the Malaysian by sequences of politically influential incidents such as the Batu Buruk, VK Lingam’s video clips, Bar Council March in Putrajaya, Bersih - Fair Election March to National Palace and the latest which might took place during this weekend is the Hindu Rights Action Force (HINDRAF) mass in front of British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur.

Isn’t all of this is to obvious for us too notice that all of these is just another election motivated issue brought up by the opposition? Do we really want to have number of illegal rallies and mass throughout our weekends instead of spending some quality peaceful time with our families? There are proper channels for us to voice out our dissatisfaction towards the ruling government, which is practice your rights to vote. And definitely I won’t be risking the future of my country for the uncooperative Oppositions.

Oil prices continue to rise

Sourced from Al Jazeera News Business Section

Oil prices have risen to record highs, past $93 a barrel, as stormy weather disrupted supplies from Mexico and the values of the dollar neared record lows.

Pemex, Mexico's state oil company, shut a fifth of the nation's crude production on Monday and halted the majority of exports as storms kept ships in ports across the country.
However, Opec, the oil cartel, attributes the price rise to politics rather than a shortage of crude.

US crude rose 73 cents to $92.59 a barrel by 17:15 GMT, after peaking at a record $93.20.

London Brent traded up 88 cents to $89.57 a barrel after hitting an all-time high $90 a barrel.
Oil prices have soared by more than a third since August.

A stand-off between Turkey and Kurdish PKK fighters, the weakening US dollar, easing interest rates and winter supply fears have provoked a fresh wave of investment capital.

$100 dollar mark

The US Federal Reserve Federal Open Market Committee meets on October 30-31, and Wall Street is predicting another rate cut as the US housing downturn deepens.

Expectations of a cut have helped push the dollar to record lows against several currencies and boosted the price of dollar-denominated commodities.

Central banks also have poured billions of dollars into financial markets to help ease the credit crisis, and much of that money has been invested in energy, commodities and emerging markets.

Frances Hudson of Standard Life Investments said: "There's huge amount of speculation from hedge funds and others, they are all focused on the $100 barrel mark.

"If volatility decreases significantly, they'd stop playing."

Opec has ignored calls from importer nations to raise crude output.

Abdullah al-Attiyah, Qatar's oil minister, said: "I haven't any signal that there is any shortage of crude... I believe a big portion of the oil price today is related to geopolitics and fear factors, and we cannot solve it."

ACA doubts Anwar’s sincerity in video clip case

Taken from The Star Online Monday October 29, 2007

KOTA KINABALU: The Anti-Corruption Agency has questioned Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s sincerity in wanting to help in investigations to verify the authenticity of a video clip purportedly showing a senior lawyer “brokering” the appointment of judges.

Anwar had filed an application in the High Court to set aside the order issued by the ACA asking him to hand over the original video clip.

ACA director-general Datuk Ahmad Said Hamdan said: “If he really wants to help, then why is he getting a court order to stop us from getting the full 14-minute clip?”

Ahmad Said, who was here to present excellence awards to 21 ACA officers and staff in Sabah, said without the original and complete video clip, the investigations could not be completed.

So far, the agency has recorded the statements of 12 people, including those mentioned in the seven-minute clip which was made public.

Ahmad Said said those interviewed said the clip was “inaudible or not clear”.

“Thus, it was difficult for the us to fault them as we don’t have the original copy. Without it we cannot verify the authenticity of the video clip,” he added

Warong Kopi`s Comments;

As i predicted, Anwar Ibrahim intention on this video issue was fishy even from the early beginning. Only he and his so called die hard followers will know exactly what kinda game he is playing. What ever it is, it looks like he is trying too hard to make a come back, sort of revival like those veteran artiste trying to be on the tv and radio airwave, unfortunately lots and lots of people are getting sick of his acting. I`m glad public are getting wiser and wiser each day and so forth.

Lulu's LOL! Kononnya UMNO Is Mature

Taken from an article of a blog owns by What A Lulu

“We’ve never made any such attempts. Never. Umno is mature. We’ll leave it to the delegates,” Umno secretary-general Mohd Radzi Sheikh Ahmad. Malaysiakini - Nov 5-9 Umno AGM: No gag order on delegates

Then erh... Lulu guesses that it is the Malaysians who are not mature enought to stomach remarks like- Umno Youth chief Hishammuddin Hussein waving a keris two years ago

Warong Kopi would say -

What`s wrong with waving keris? Does he kill someone with it? If you are not aware you also can waive a keris, buy one and waive it, that’s it.

- one delegate last year warned that more was to come if Malay-Muslim interests were threatened.

Yalar, as we are living in a multi cultural society, we should respect at others rights not simply denying it and compromise with each others way of life and not by just objecting it.

- Hashim Subuh's “Hishammuddin has unsheathed the keris. He has waved it. He has kissed it. We ask now when he is going to use it,”

Again has someone here killed by the Hishammuddin with his keris? Couldn’t you just stop being paranoid and move on? Why so sensitive on this matter? Talk about sensitivity to all those illegal pig farmers in Melaka who made headlines a few back. Talk about sensitivity to all those employers who is asking their female employee not to wear head scarf during work time and male employee not to performed prayer including Friday prayer. Not forgetting those who criticize the sound of Azan on their neighborhood.

- Hasnoor Sidang Husin's “Umno is willing to risk lives and bathe in blood in defence of race and religion”.

Wouldn`t you just do the same for your race and religion? Or you just might run away since your guts was neve there at the first place?

Batal jumpa Anwar, BPR salahguna akta pencegahan rasuah

Based on article from HarakahDaily

- mks.

Warong Kopi`s Comments;

This same fella are on the news again, its gonna be a never ending stories, as he is going on and on and on looking for some reason to be on the headlines. Funny thing is, if he really sincere going for justice as he may say, he might just pass it over to BPR himself the bloody clips that he claimed to be in his tumbdrive. Anyway he got nothing to loose if he do that. What kind of game he is playing now?

Furthermore, I didn’t get the point when he said

Which means “If ACA (Anti Corruption Agency) couldn’t make it in another 5 minutes, the evidence (the video clips) that currently in my hand will be gone”

A bit too childish I guess.

Last but not least, as far as I remember this fella have tons of supporters during the reformation years 1997-1998 but what happened to his so called die hard fans? During this particulars press conference, only 150 people turn up and that is including the number of local and foreign press and photographers. Here are the invitation for the mass gathering at Anuar`s office for this event. http://anwaribrahimblog.com/2007/10/24/himpunan-solidariti-dengan-dsaipejabat-dsai/

Seems like less people are buying the word from this horse and who knows one day the horsy only talk to himself.

A tongue in cheek solution

Based on articles originated from Anti-Jihad and then published by Raja Petra on Malaysia Today

Ladies and gentleman, Malaysia is facing a cash crunch.

The oil, lifeblood of the Government's treasury, is running out. Hugely expensive programmes such as NEP and subsidies are politically untouchable, so hence must run in perpetuity. And of course Malaysia will in the future need more massive Merdeka parades, more shiny new Russian jets to overfly said parades, and more spaceflight participants to consume teh tarik and commit khalwat in orbit. So many expenses and dwindling income. What to do?

Simply put, Malaysia seriously needs a lot of cash...and the little cash-loaded red dot to our south (which need not yet be named) needs real estate and resources. So my friends, with my tongue placed firmly in cheek, I would like to offer this simple answer for Malaysia's impending financial woes.

Let's sell Johor to Singapore!

That's right, not just the troublesome metropolis of Johor Bahru...the whole state of Johor-- lock, stock and barrel.

Quite obviously, it's a mutually beneficial deal. UMNO/BN gets billions in hard currency that they could not obtain otherwise, and hence get the grease that lubricates the wheels of their, ahem, 'unique' brand of government. Singapore gets desperately needed living space, and also acquires vital resources that it no longer has to buy from its surly neighbours (like sand and drinking water). Not to mention that those annoying issues like the causeway and the crooked bridge are rendered moot, because Singapore will own both sides of the strait. Both sides win!

Oh sure, the Sultan in JB may have a small objection to the aforementioned deal. Enough cash in his pocket and the usual UMNO-style kickback should settle the matter in the usual way. OK, let's not call it a kickback. We can call it a small gratuity, with another estate or two in Switzerland thrown in to sweeten the transaction. Besides, I am quite sure that the Sultan can work out a deal with the pragmatic folks south of the (current) border to look as if he's still in charge whilst the practical bureaucrats of the PAP take care of the less glamourous aspects of running an efficient government. Moreover, once the relatively non-corrupt Singaporean police show up in Johor Bahru and clean up the place in short order, the folks in JB should quickly grow positively fond of their new landlords. After all the BN-sanctioned corruption and violence that's plagued the place for decades, who wouldn't be grateful?

Of course, after a half century of watching UMNO governments run Johor into the ground, I wouldn't blame the Singaporeans a whit if they didn't want any part of this proposed transaction. Compared to their immaculately-kept island, Johor can best be described as a handyman's special, or a 'fixer-upper'. It would take a ton of work to spruce up the place. But the Singaporeans don't seem too averse to a dint of hard work. After all, the miracle that is today's Singapore certainly didn't build itself, did it?

Alright, it doesn't have to be an outright sale. Perhaps the parties could opt for a long-term lease with an option to buy. Let the potential new owners test-drive their new property, kick the tires, and see how they like it.

After all, the Singaporeans wouldn't want any buyer's remorse, would they?

Warong Kopi Comment,

First of all, I guess Raja Petra was trying to be funny by posting this article from someone who actually pronounced that he is no longer a muslim or murtads. You guys may read all his writings and ideas at http://www.pedestrianinfidel.blogspot.com/ then you all know what kind of person this fellow is.

But Raja Petra you are trying too hard since all the sarcasm he tried to lump into was kind of too much especially when he said

"Oh sure, the Sultan in JB may have a small objection to the aforementioned deal. Enough cash in his pocket and the usual UMNO-style kickback should settle the matter in the usual way."

Isn` It a hell lots of kurang ajar?

Maybe one day we will have a similar case of Blogger Praya Pichai from Thailand which his offending post to the Thais monarchy and now is charged under section 14 of Computer Crime Act, which provides for a sentence of up to ten years in prison.

I think we should!!!
